I ran into a problem the other day after uninstalling my Xfi Xtrememusic driver and trying to reinstall them. I have windows vista ultimate 32bit and I used driver cleaner to completely remove the driver. When I reinstalled the Xfi driver it installed but the card is being recognized as a multimedia audio controller now and is not functioning. I have tried moving it from the original pci slot into a new one and it still does not work. Right now i have the driver installed but when i reboot the multimedia audio controller pops up and says it needs drivers even thought the creative drivers are installed. Whenever I click on Audio console it says the audio device supported by this application is not detected This application will exit. Any help would be appreciated i am stumped. unsure.gif

Premium sound cards are fickle creatures and do not like being moved from slot to slot. Try the following:

- uninstall the driver
- shut down and remove the card
- reboot and run driver cleaner in safe mode to remove all remnants of the driver
- shut down
- reinstall the card
- boot and install the drivers

Make sure that your BIOS is set to assign IRQs in BIOS (Plug&Pray OS = NO).

You're quite welcome.

That said, we prefer to be called a "board" and not a "bored"..... tongue.gif
