It seems I'm running my ram in the wrong slots...black for high fsb low latency.
Have to fix that up here in a bit.....mine are in the yellow slots right now I think.

Still going biggrin.gif Running 3dmark06 at 3995 as I type this wink.gif 3995MHz PCMark05 already added to HWBot

Damn you guys and your Quads, you're gonna kill me in some benchmarks..but I shall wait patiently for penryn.. When penryn is released officially I have more of an excuse to attempt to destroy some of these conroe chips i have lying around.

WannaGoFast- 09-25-2007
Yup this is real good stuff here. wink.gif Very pleased with these new parts.

You know it is good when you are smashing your old best scores on a
board you are clueless about and have only played with for 2 days biggrin.gif

You beat my PC Mark by 2k points. I think it is due to the RAID array. I'd have to build an array on the externals to keep up. biggrin.gif You are now gettung great temps as well, and they should only improve as the weather cools here (sorry Paul). The GTX and assorted parts should arrive on the 26th and I will have them in by the weekend. Maybe run a few benches on the e6600 and GTX rig, on air, and then transfer everything.

I have the microcool thermal tape, which I purchased to reinstall the heatpipe on the P5N32 Plus and plan on using that for the heatsinks on the GTX. I'll let you guys know how it works.

Everything on AUTO, no tweaks and you beat your best scores... When you worked so hard getting them with the old gear smile.gif

Most hardcore PCmark05 benchers use RAM drives like the gigabyte i-RAM, or 4 disk arrays, every point counts.

That's a first: I thought the rule of thumb was to run RAM in the slot nearest the CPU, then the corresponding, neighboring DIMM. I'm running in the yellow slots too, Wanna. Let me know if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the link -- looks like a good one!

I really dont have a baseline with which to -*test*-('") if the blacks are better.
I really havent tried to hit any real high FSB numbers with this setup yet.

But I do know that eva2000 is an old and long time respected member at Xtreme forums.....
And if he and his friends think running in the blacks is a lot better I take their word for it wink.gif

yeah eva2000 runs the i4memory forum which is an Aussie Enthusiast forum, I'm a member there and the guy does some exhaustive -*test*-('")ing, I put my RAM in the black slots and managed a few extra mhz at the same sets, so im convinced it works
