Be ready to hit the Red Alert / reboot button when she doesn't go into warp overdrive with these settings even using memset.

oops.. made a mistake TRTP: 8...

I can boot and run mem-*test*-('") fine with these sets biggrin.gif

You can run these subtimings on AUTO by the way and with Transaction Booster at Level 1 it will tighten them up a little bit.. I will 'revise' my post to reflect a more 'lady like setting'

Ha ... still pretty iron man. But, with the "8" replacing the "3" not lion taming.

Okay Im all up in windows....now im just boggled by all the bios settings.
Anyone wanna run through a basic bios to do list for the P5K for me?

Looking good so far... seeing 28 to 32c idle temps.....kinda warm in here.
That sound about right for running stock? Measured with core temp 0.95.4.

cool.gif

In a 78f room I am running 37/37/40/36 on the cores at 3600MHz 1.47v

WannaGoFast- 09-23-2007
Ok guys....sounds good....thanks for that rundown Paul biggrin.gif

So far the entire project has gone very smoothly, I couldnt be more pleased.
Popped the new board and cpu in, and it fired right up. Other then the small battle
with a dodgy raid floppy disk the whole upgrade process was fairly painless so far.

Now its just a matter of getting my windows install back to right and then its play time biggrin.gif

WannaGoFast- 09-23-2007
Alrighty then.......seems to be going well still biggrin.gif
Set up my base bios sets per Pauls "sissy" settings and all was good. wink.gif
Then I just started raising the fsb til I hit 400. Lowering the ram to keep it under 500.
Didnt change anything else at this point and was able to succesfully boot 3.6GHz.
Then I fired up prime and raised the voltage on the CPU until it passed that for a while.

Set to 1.45v in the bios gives me 1.41v under a load in windows running 4xPrime95.

Its still running prime as I post this....gonna let it go for and hour or so and then move up.
Quite pleased with my results so far as I still dont really know what I am doing.

Here's a teaser shot just to see if it would boot up wink.gif

Nice! What was the vcore?

1.55 in bios = 1.52 in windows.

Wow - that chip is amazing. With the p5k and the B2 stepping Q6600, it took 1.575v (about 1.54v in windows) to hit 3.8GHz - on air, but still.

What were the idle temps there @ 3.995GHz?

Merc- 09-23-2007
That is a good chip Wanna. biggrin.gif You're going to have fun with that one.

I dont have a screenshot of it.....but I wanna say mid 30's...I know I didnt see 40 at idle.
