Guys, we have about a week left and I don't see much advantage to holding off posting our scores any longer. We should all be pretty much at our systems best performance by now so go ahead and post a score.

Unfortunately, it looks to me like the Pitstop will be the number one site. They have 3 engineering sample Conroes, which should not have been allowed to compete in the War, and they are smoking. Plus 7900 GTXes all around. I can only assume that the motherboards were engineering samples too as I am certain that no Conroe capable boards were available as of July 10th.

One can only assume that Rat, for wahtever reason, has set up the Pitstop crew to win. Sorry about that, I had no idea how crooked the guy was when I suggested we compete.

We can still do pretty well if the B-D teams post some killer scores. My final was 96K+ which beat some A team scores and I am on our C Team. If everyone benches to their rigs best available performance we may still come out at the top overall or very close to it. We have to post, though, so get your scores in. You can post them here and please use the official format and make the Cop's job easier.

Post your score here http://asustech.15.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=651

Those guys with ES Conroes should have been in the Ultra Team... whatever happened to that idea??

Don't know mate. This thing started out fine but Rat did that big change right in the middle and the whole competition kind of went down the toilet at that point. As far as I know the Ultra category disappeared.

Personally, I would've let guys with phase change cooling and the like compete but never, ever would I have allowed engineering samples. Rat's whole competition is about enthusiast PC's competing and things are constanltly shifting in this game.

5 years ago, aftermarket coolers were high end, watercooling was a fringe activity and Phase change was a lab only type of cooling. Today, aftermarket HSF's are normal, watercooling is high end and phase change is the fringe. Today though, you can get a phase change cooler for around $300. I expect that next year there will be a lot more phase change cooling rigs competing.

Engineering samples don't, IMHO, fit in anywhere here. They are a one off experimental thing that may or may not bear any resemblance to a production unit. In the case of the Conroe, the ESs were pretty close, but still, what if they weren't?

3 or 4 guys got a hold of ES Conroes and no one else can compete against the scores they rack up. Next year there will be Conroes all over the place going up against quad cores and the like. It will be a fight. This year the fight was over before it started, at least at the A Team level, because Rat changed the rules mid-stream and stacked the deck.

Like I said though, it isn't just the A Team scores that count, it is the whole forum score. We have 4 teams coompeting and they are all at the top of the pyramid in their respective classes. No telling how it will work out but we will do well.

The only question is how will Rat end up scoring this thing? Will he change the rules to get the Conroe guys the crown for the best forum? I think that he will because he seems to want the publicity of the Conroes kicking everyone's ass. We shall see.
