I have a PATA hard drive set as Primary Master. I want to install a SATA drive and create a dual boot set up for Windows XP and Vista. I'm looking at the PDF for the A8N-SLI motherboard. Page 1-22. It shows;

SATA 1, SATA2 Master Boot Disk
SATA3, SATA4 Slave Data Disk

Not sure what this means. If XP is on the PATA drive and I want to dual boot to Vista on the SATA drive, where would I plug in the SATA drive??

That is mighty confusing, as the master/slave concept is moot in the world of SATA Hard Drives. Start with SATA 1 and see how that goes. What is not clear to me, having not yet tried Vista, is whether the install will recognize the installation on the PATA drive and create the requisite dual boot ini. Perhaps someone who has run it in dual boot can chime in. It should work, but hey, this is Microsoft. Should and Does are two very different things.
