Nice preview of the very soon reality of quad xfire.
http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3232Here is a thought: one 3870 X2 ($450) card along with one 3870 card ($180), instead of two 3870 X2s ($900)
Yummy,
From the looks of the performance charts going from 2 to 3 gpu's is the best bang for your buck, but I wonder if as the drivers mature for the X2 if that may help the performance jump from 3 to 4 gpu's.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement is it? It looks like an awful lot is hinging on the Crossfire quad support drivers.
Wonder if you'll be able to overclock quad crossfire?
March will definetly be a big month for vid cards. The new ATI drivers will be out for quad xfire, which is very exciting. Also, we will see Nvida's 9800GX2, and possible the 9800GTX.
