i was thinking about getting 2 8800 gt i read that they are pci 2.o would i still be able to run these cards on this board

No, sorry - see this thread. Your board has the nForce4 graphics chipset. See post #5 in the thread, which says that your board has pcie 1.0a. Post #7 tells what graphics cards each version of pcie will run.

The GTs might run on your board, but if they did, they wouldn't perform like they are supposed to. So, you wouldn't get the bump you'd be trying to get. Whether you could tweak the pcie express setting in the board's BIOS to get it to run a little closer to the pcie 2.0 spec isn't clear. You'd probably risk blowing the card doing that. I wouldn't risk it.

all that worrying about DX10 compatability when we should ahve been looking at what was going to really happen hardware wise...the move to PCI2.0 is the thing that is really screwing people over. rolleyes.gif dry.gif
