hi there Asus independent. havent been here for a very long time. hows everyone? biggrin.gif

im planning on getting p5kc cuz of the ddr2 and ddr3 slots

will be using kingston ddr2 800 1G x2 for now and later ddr3 1333 while its more affordable.

will use 6750 for now and later 45nm QuadCore

is there any compatible issues?

thanks in advance

Shouldn't be any compatiblity issues, and looks like the makings of a very nice computer.

It will be nice when DDR3 comes down in price, hopefully not too much after the beginning of the year.

thanks for the fast reply Vegasr.

i dont have any exprience with Asus P35s. is P5KC overclockable?
6750 => 3.6Ghz too much to ask for on this setup?

I would defintely think it could do 3.6 with proper cooling.

We've seen the 6850 go above 4.0 on air. These new G0 steppings have been overclocking very nicely, especially with the P35 chipset.

You may even be able to do 3.6ghz @ 1.4v or something... DDR3 is getting better by the day but by the time it becomes as affordable as DDR2 there will be a lot better chisets out.. I don't know how expensive the Asus P5KC is but im sure it must be more than say a P5K deluxe or premium.

Bear in mind that the X38 chipset boards are out soon but they will be DDR3 when they first surface. For now the P35 is the best overclocking chipset period.

Can't always look to the future paul. If you do that you'll never get anything. If you can find something that will support both classes of RAM i think you've got a pretty nice set-up.

If you wait for the next best thing you'll never buy, true, thats why I buy and think later
