Overclocker Guru ....

According to some, I do nice Overclockers Dream Switch.

Tired of removing your side panel or your VGA card for reseting the CMOS...???

I have the solution for you!!

I'm selling them for 35$usd shipped (3-5 days) everywhere in Canada - USA (For all the others just contact me.)

The O'cers Dream Switch is all hand made, welded and -*test*-('")ed. I can do the lenght and color (even UV reactive!!) you want but usually they are black and 18" long. I can add a LED for 10$usd.

The switch can be mounted on a PCI slot, inside the case or like mine behind the front door.

If you are interested just contact me in PM.

Thanks!

These probably don't do it justice, as there is not a lot of light in this room. Here is the business end of the switch.

Here is the connecting end.

By the way, for anyone wondering, I will verify that this thing works. Shut down, unplug power from the PSU, flip the switch, count 30, flip it back, and the CMOS is reset. Fortunately, my second 7900GT is on loan to Roderick for -*test*-('")ing right now, so I could actually get a picture of it in the case with the system running.

Still sent a few of these out to staff to -*test*-('") and here is my -*test*-('")imonial:

If you have a A8N32 SLI Deluxe then you need this thing. I just used it to install my new CPU. Here is my normal reset exercise with the 32:
1. Remove blower that covers the vid cards.
2. Remove vid card #2 working it carefully around the watercooling tube. Don't even ask about reaching the little tab to release the card with aftermarket coolers installed. blink.gif
3. Get out the forceps and remove the battery and jumper.
4. Drop the jumper whch slips under the mobo.
5. Find the jumper after shaking the whole case and replace it.
6. Work the battery back in with my fat fingers, sweating the pressure i put on the components around it.
7. Replace vid card #2 without screwing up my watercooling lines.
8. Wipe the sweat off and curse the Asus guy who put the jumper where he did.

Elapsed time about 20 minutes

Here is how I reset today:
1. Flip the switch and leave it set for 15 or so seconds.
2. Flip the switch back and reboot.

Elapsed time about 20 seconds.

Thanks Still, you da' man. biggrin.gif Seriously, this is a must have if your board is set up like mine.

I have the switch sticky taped to my 5.25 inch drive side panel so the baby can't get at it which means I have to release the side panel a couple of inches to get at it otherwise you can mount it outside the case. Yes that smiling face in the avatar is hell bent on destruction of all things electronic. It is hardwired into his BIOS and there is no flash utility available. rolleyes.gif

just curious, how come you don't have to pull the battery any more? could you just do the jumper shuffle and leave the battery in? I get nervous when I take the batt out; it takes a little more force than I like.

In rare cases, it may still be necessary to remove the battery, but the reset works 99% of the time with the battery in place.

Since I play with computers, I didn't had to removed the battery very oftenly to clear the CMOS.

Used it about 5 times today as I played at the low end of Vcore with my new CPU. Lot's of black screen dead system boots. In 10 seconds I was back in BIOS albeit having to redo all my settings rolleyes.gif but the switch definitely clears CMOS/BIOS. This thing made O/Cing on the hairy edge with the 32 fun again. It was a nightmare before because resetting CMOS was so painful.

EDIT: BTW, I am not kissing up. rolleyes.gif I am just very happy that I don't have to do a small rebuild just to reset CMOS/BIOS any longer. biggrin.gif
