Has anyone else had an issue with the screen resolutions offered by Nvidia? I cannot get 1280X720 to work with a 8800GTX. In XP it works with the las-*test*-('") drivers, but not Vista x64. I am using the la-*test*-('") driver, 158.43. It will only show 1280X768 as an option. The Nvidia control panel is still missing many of the advanced features and I cannot make the mode manually. At least SLI works in this mode. Any have any ideas besides wait for .44 etc etc?

I realize this is a simplistic response, but sometimes people overlook the fact that Nvidia has a separate 8800GTX driver release. Are you using the 8800GTX drivers?

To the best of my knowledge, Vista does not support SLI mode.

There have been reported problems with the new Nvidia driver control panel. If you do a quick search using username, "CapnKirk," some of his more recent posts include links to modified driver files with the old control panel.

First off, nice computer line up you have G.

About the res, it appears you are using the la-*test*-('") beta driver. Have you tried using driver 158.18? I know the beta is the la-*test*-('") update, but it is still beta.

You can also try getting a driver from tweaks r us.

They have been known to produce some outstanding driver, especially for the 8800 series.

Hope this helps.

Yes, I am using the la-*test*-('") 8800 Nvidia drivers. I am using the beta drivers to get SLI to work. The last official driver does not support SLI in Vista if I remember right. I am glad I decided to dual boot XP and Vista. My plan is to keep XP for 32 bit and until Vista 64 is mainstream and supported enough to fully switch over. I guess the driver support is still the problem. The Nvidia control panel still has a way to go, I guess I will have to wait until the panel is fully operational in Vista. The 7000 series drivers seem to be working better for the moment on my other machine. Oh well, just more waiting, just seeing if anyone else knew anything. Thanks for the replies.
