BLA! BLA! BLA!
Hey, I just spent two days playing around with some of the "automatic" overclocking stuff in the A8N32 BIOS...what a mess! It's like herding cats.
The good news:
After numerous hard crashes (of various types for various unknown reasons) the BIOS itself never got corrupted.
I learned what PCIe buss speeds can do for 3Dmark06. If a little bit of something is good, to much isn't enough.....not!
Now I see where alot of the "the lights come on and the fans spin up, but..." posts come from.
On a happier note, I spent two days at the Autobahn Country Club race course in Joliet Illinois helping some friends prepare for an enduro race. They have an Elan DP02 that is the current points leaser in the IMSA Lites series (Parallax Racing:
http://www.toniskasemets.com/). Two days of driving (track rented from 8an - 5pm both days) as much as possible with 4 drivers, two of which had never driven the car before! Two bad crashes. 10 min into the first session (tire wall, just a broken splitter and some minor cardon fiber cracks) and 10 minutes before the end of the last session (guard rail at about 50mph, right side suspension, well...gone). All in all a very enlightening two days. We had Pabst Racing Enterprises (http://www.pabstracing.com/) to prep the car and Tonis Kasemets (5 Champ Car races last year and doing the Daytons prototype series this year) as driving coach. The beer was cold and the wings were hot.
