MTM - we need to know you exact memory specs to know for sure if running it @ 1066MHz is stock.  But, it probably is, especially since the SLI setting has it running @ 1066.

Yep - stock speed is 1066Mhz for those "doms", MTM. Good stuff; have some myself.

Thanks for the sig. Nice system you've got there!

i didn't buy all this stuff just to run it on stock wink.gif So, i will be more than happy to learn more about oc'ing (i know a little already, but nothing too complex i guess...) and this Winter War thing might be just what i need.

MTM, will be great to have you on one of the FW teams. As CC said, very nice system. The X38 chipset and the Penryn greatly simplify overclocking. The fact you have an unlocked multiplier also makes a huge difference.

While your running benches, I would suggest beginning with a lower multi like 9 or 10 and raising FSB speed 5 clicks at a time. My experience was that this yields the best results with the QX9650 (i.e., lower multi, higher FSB). Run two or three different benchmarks at each 10 or 20 MHz increase in FSB. You will find that at a certain point, SuperPi may run fine, but 3DMark06 crashes. Or that you can run 3DMark06, but not 3DMark05 without crashing.

This will give you a feel for how stability is impacted -- in what way, at what point, and how it varies depending on particular benchmark run. When you have a general feel for the board and the processor (you may already), then you can raise the multiplier up to around 13 and focus on getting high scores in -*test*-('")s like SuperPi, where everyone runs on the precipice of instability to get the edge.

Thanks all!

I will get the missing benchmarks in the next few days and post the results.
