PM me on that GTX, I may be interested. biggrin.gif I don't need a board. This Asus P5K is a perfect fit for the Q6600, I love the thing. Don't need Raptors and my PC P&C from you is going strong. But, that GTX has me interested.

Oh man, I've been looking at upgrading to a P35. Tempting, but I need to do a case mod before I go to a quad.

well you can use your cpu in your sig on that dfi until you mod your case.

it will give you some time to get use to tweaking it.

one e-mail from newegg says i have 7 days until my rma isn't valid.
today is the 7th day.
another says i have 14 days, so not sure what to do.

what makes this board so good with no SLI support?

wouldn't an sli board be faster then this with one card?

i do have a Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Quad-Core.
so that mobo and the above cpu with one 8800GTX would be better than SLI?

Probably wouldn't beat it but the P35 chipset is outstanding. Great memory throughput, great overclocker and loves the quad processors. Very stable and the Asus has almost no V-droop. Set 1.50 and the board boots at 1.473 and then stays pretty much there regardless of the load, maybe a slight droop to 1.469v. Makes O/Cing easy and also allows you to boot and run at the load voltage rather than running all the time at 1.50v because VDroop will take it down to 1.47v with a load. It is also a cooler running chip. Intel did a great job.

An SLI rig will do better on graphics, though, since two GTXes will always trump a single. So, in your case, I'd stick with SLI and RMA the DFI. You can always request your RMA number from The Egg and then see if you can sell the board in the next few days. They don't care if you never use the RMA number.

Hey Capn,

What stuff might you have left? I might be interested in one of the 74 G raptors and do you have another XFX 8800?

PM if you'd like.

Thanks,
Rick
