Allright I have been dealing with this asus board and xms problem for awhile now and need to get some advice. Here is the deal: I built this system a few years ago and have had problems ever since, I think it is just something about this Memory and Mobo combo not liking each other. first off the mobo detects the mem speed at 333mhz, so I manualy change it to 400. no big deal. If I change the latancy at all, i get no post, no bios, nada. Have to clear cmos and take out the 3200, place one stick of the old2700 in the third ram slot and reboot. If I am lucky this works so that I can get back into the bios. sometimes it does'nt work and I spend days repeating this cycle until it says ok. Sometimes I can repalce the 3200 (both sticks) and get back to business, as long as I don't mess with mem timings. Right now I am operating on the 2700 because I don't have the patience to gamble on the 3200 working as I just spent a week just to get the damn thing to post. I really want to put the 3200 back in so I can try a game I bought but I don't have the guts and I thought I would try and get some advice first. SO the question is this: Do you know a workaround so I can set my timings right without worrying about this problem becoming a problem again? I know there are alot of people with this issue because I have spent days googling to try and get some answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to have my xms running at like 2.3-3-3-6 with 1T timing or something.
