Thanks, WGF! I just went there and downloaded it. I figured I haven't introduced enough driver silliness into my rebuilt rig already in the past few days,... might as well throw this one into the mix, too, don't you think?

I've noticed the new driver doesn't pay attention to the "turn off the monitor after ... mins" choice in the Power Options control panel (or Advanced specs from the desktop). This has been problematic for me with other versions of the driver, too, so it's probably another XP "undocumented feature".

I've had that happen in the past....
usually changing the shut off time in power options and then changing it back makes it behave for me.

Yup. I've done that before, too. Tried that several times this afternoon, and I think it finally "took".
