I just wanted to know if its possible for my a8nsli-deluxe to be fitted with an 8 series graphic card from nvidia....either the 8600gt or the 8800gts or which ever 8 series. Seriously thinking to buying those in sli. Any help is appreciated biggrin.gif

You should be fine with any of the cards rolleyes.gif
Don't think you need a SLI config since the CPU will
limit what you get out anyway blink.gif

Just been moving my 8800GTs from one slot to another. When using the bottom slot the nvidia SATA ports are just about useable fi you plug your HD's in before seating the card. The Silicon ones are obscured. If your using water cooling then you may be able to get at the silicon ones depending on the size of the video card water cooling block.

how can i overlimit my cpu then...overclocking?....but the 8 series nvidia should work rite?....oh and what should i download or install like bios or whatever to get the card working properly?

I'd go for the 8800GTX or 8800GTS with 640MB of RAM onboard. I'd remove the Nvidia display drivers using the control panel "Add/Remove a program" function with the old card in the system and then boot into safe mode (F8 right after BIOS loads)and run Drivercleaner Pro, if you have it, to get rid of any leftover driver stuff. Shut down and unplug the PC from the wall, remove your old card and install the 8800GTS/GTX reboot and install the la-*test*-('") 8 series driver from the Nvidia website. That's it. Is your Power Supply strong enough to run an 8 series card?

I Hope so...I'll be using the coolermaster 650w extremeduo(Says can go sli but not certified)..hope theres enough amp in it to run because my current computer has some hiccups, dunno if its the power or the GC but its not an asus...I'll be making my second rig here thats why all help is needed and appreciated.

You can run one 8800 with that but not two.

I was thinking about making that upgrade this summer but without a job i couldn't justify it. (not that i can justify getting a new laptop for about as much) anyway your processor will probably hold the thing back a little bit but so long as you don't you aren't running vista and a DX10 game then you shouldn't see a signifigant slowdown anywhere. You can OC your processor but be careful not to max out that PSU. Also if the PSU is over 2 years old you should get a new one as capciter aging will greatly affect the actual wattage of your PSU. (they will tell you to get a PC&C 750 if you ask them what PSU to get or something greater) also many companies post the max wattage output not the continuous output. So you'll have to be careful with that if you decide to start shopping for another PSU. I like ultra PSU's you can get 600watts for $50-75 if you look for it. but no one else will agree with me in that regard. I also don't push my compy too hard either so if you like to push go with them.
