As noted above, Asus Independent is celebrating its first anniversary and we're looking for good stories, funny or serious, from 2006 to look back upon. Please post your thoughts here and enjoy the submissions of others as we look forward to 2007.

On a little less humorous note, the board started small, but grew furiously in the early days with lots of problems for users to report on the A8N-SLI Deluxe. The live help room was religiously manned in the early days of the board and it was used heavily by the users. I spent January through April of 2006 in there 3-4 hours a night soaking up everything Roderick, Crisa023, and Merc had to offer.

In those days, my job was secretary. Roderick couldn't type to save his life, but he knew how to troubleshoot. I could type, but I was a noob. So, we set up a voice over IP system where he would dictate to me the solutions and I would type them out for the user. Thank God he's learned to type, I wore out a keyboard in those first few months wink.gif. On the other hand, I learned a lot in the process.

Typing is still a work in progress Arlie.........managed but never mastered here. As a "Oh by the way"..............I never fired you from being my typing tutor. wink.gif

How about the Raptor Pit scandals? That's back when I first became a asustech/blu_mod.gif and they put us all through so much crap that Merc broke 1k posts just from trying to explain their rules to us. Since he had to change the rules about three times a day, he is now the leading poster on the forum. smile.gif

Roderick:

If you'll put a headset on your avatar and a clock on the wall that says 12:30 am, then I am the guy at the keyboard trying to type out instructions. I know your typing is not perfect yet, but THANK YOU for the improvements!!!! laugh.gif

My arms are starting to grow back wink.gif
