Damn it!!! As a Bills fan who missed every Superbowl save the last one I envy you guys. I live for football durin the season. The only argument I don't have is where I am going Sunday at 1PM.

I love the Bills but missed every SB, due to the Navy, except the last one in which we got our asses kicked in the 2nd half and the the horrible ex-wife filled the house with Cowboys fans As the only Bills fan in my F-14 squadron the boys left me alone for one day ( I was literally greeen after finishing a pony keg and two packs of my horrible ex-wifes Virginia slims with my brother, locked in the garage. I did show up the nxt day and actuall7 flew. I beat a 4 plane from the USAF with two Tomcats(only USAF guys could be sober the day after the Superbowl and lose to a bunch of still dfunk Navy guys) The USAF pussies accused us of cheating.

The next day i had a profile mission and the ejection seat was covered, COVERED, in Cowboy stickers. I loved my troops and the 1st class said, Mr. Mercer, we love ya sir but F the Bills. LMAO.

It is tough to be a Bills fan but what can you do. Born and raised in Buffalo and my son has all kinds of Bills gear already. GOTTA LOVE AMERICAN FOOTBALL.

The Bills don't have a history any sadder than the Bucs. Lived there until 1990 and am still a fan, mostly a reluctant fan. 2002 could well be their 1st and last SuperBowl win.

Alright, I have flashed to the la-*test*-('") 0705 in anticipation of this new e8500 if I ever get it. Had a look thru the BIOS and it looks like a cheap version of an X38 BIOS. Support for 333 and 400 FSB CPU's...

Merc mentioned in his first post:

he BIOS pages are completely different and the CPU Damper has disappeared. I can't find anything that resembles it in the new BIOS so Vdroop has increased. sad.gif

It has in fact not disappeared but changed its name to "Load Line Calibration".. Does it work as well as CPU Voltage Damper? Supposedly this is the new version and should be able to handle vdroop better than ever. Do I believe them? LOL not really...biggrin.gif

Our Australian football (rugby league) season hasnt started yet, but I am enjoying a summer of cricket on TV... Our football is played without helmets or padding...

Checked the Load Line Calibration feature out....

BIOS set 1.35v

Load Line Calibration DISABLED = 1.304v

Load Line Calibration Enabled = 1.320v

I think the original CPU Voltage damper was better... Good thing Penryns dont need insane voltages to work at decent speeds.

Kind of like the way you overclock ...

Thank You Sir...

Anyway, I've -*test*-('")ed this new 0705 with some pi runs at 3.6ghz, not gonna break any records but its good to -*test*-('") RAM with..

Heres what I used:

Fresh windows Install with no tweaks, just straight up and down.
RAM is running at 1200mhz with 5-5-5-15 primary 3-42-6-3-3 secondary timings, pretty loose but I didnt want it to crash.

user posted image

Just seemed easy to run 600mhz RAM for some reason, with this new BIOS...I may be able to sneak a 4 in the primary timings somewhere if I loosen the secondaries some more..

See if you guys on the old BIOS or other boards can beat this superpi 1m at 3600mhz we can get a compare then.

As Rick is a big Packers fan  sad.gif  being from WI, and I'm a big Cowboys fan  smile.gif being from Dallas, I wonder if we might both be in the NFC Conf game in a few weeks.  cool.gif

Making it past Seattle is the first step but a champoinship game in Dallas would be fun too!

I'm trying to keep things in perspective but, damn, I'm getting fired up!

Good luck against the Giants Chuck!

OK, back on topic....BIOS.

Well the Packers are in, fun game to watch with all that snow.

Lets see what the Cowboys will do tomorrow.

We will blame our loss on the snow. rolleyes.gif

Sorry, Jason ... I like Hasselbeck, but he looked flat after the 1st quarter (could've been the weather) and Farve had one of his hot-*test*-('") games in a long while.

jmkays- 01-12-2008
Agreed. Being a Boston Red Sox fan, I'm used to it -- no worries. laugh.gif
